Michelle

A destination wedding made of fairytales and dreams. Ravello, Italy overlooking the Mediterranean Sea was the perfect breathtaking location for this amazing couple.

Stunning BERTA bride Michelle wore style 16-15. A vintage meets modern BERTA style with lace embroidery and hints of pearl throughout the lace. The style is for the classic bride with a modern and ethereal look. We love the styling Michelle did with her fishtail hair style and gorgeous crystal headpiece. The beautiful, soft lighting really drew us into their fairy tale wedding.

From the Bride via Style Me Pretty blog

“The saying goes, if you love someone, travel with them, and if you still love them after, marry them. Experiencing new cultures is something that has bonded the two of us together. Shervin is of Persian decent and I am half Chinese and Caucasian. Experiencing different cultures is at the core of our romance. I’ve never had a better travel partner and our relationship really blossoms with the smell of adventure.”

“Having a destination wedding was a no brainer for us. The writer Gore Vidal wrote “Twenty five years ago I was asked by an American magazine what was the most beautiful place that I had ever seen in all my travels and I said the view from the belvedere of the Villa Cimbrone on a bright winter’s day when the sky and the sea were each so vividly blue that it was not possible to tell one from the other.” Villa Cimbrone is pure magic and when standing on the Belvedere, you are instantly pulled into a dream like state where the sky meets the sea.”

“Every part of the planning seemed to fall into place. When I inquired with Sandra Åberg Photography, I was attracted to her use of light. We connected instantly and we were lucky to have her lead us through a meditation during our first look. This really helped to ground and bring us both into the present moment. I felt my bridal nerves subside after, and I was able to enjoy the rest of the wedding.”

Daniela Canny

All of our BERTA and MUSE brides take our breath away but this particular MUSE bride is truly magical. Daniela wore a MUSE by Berta style ANNABEL from the 2017 collection. This bride completely owned the dress and styled it to perfection. As a designer herself, we just loved all her small details and touches that really created this abyss of charm and allure. Whimsical, boho, and truly dreamy we fell in love with their entire wedding! The couple is absolutely perfection and the photos are just a small piece of their love-filled special day.

A little from our #MUSE bride spotlight, Daniela:

Where was your wedding?

We got married at a beautiful forest venue called Die Woud, just outside of Cape Town in South Africa. We were completely immersed in nature throughout the day. We exchanged vows under the trees and held our reception dinner in a glass marquee, so Mother Nature was largely present throughout.

What kind of theme were you going for your wedding?

We went for a relaxed, Moroccan inspired feel with bohemian accents and lush, indigenous flora. Morocco holds a very special place in my heart, and I was completely inspired by the beautiful hues, patterns and textures when I travelled there.

What was the process like on finding your wedding dress?

I planned a trip to London in search of my wedding dress. There are so many interesting bridal boutiques in London that stock a variety of designers from all over the world, so I knew I would be spoilt for choice there. I have had my eye on Berta for as long as I can remember, and it was completely by chance that Berta was showing their Muse collection at The Wedding Club in London the same weekend I was there. From the moment I saw the dress on the rail, I knew it was the one! The delicate fabric and the unusual colour immediately spoke to me and won my heart as soon as I tried it on.

Would you like to share how you and your husband met?

We’ve known each other since we were in high school. We were introduced by my older sister and immediately connected. We started spending some time together and after trying to keep it casual, we soon fell in love. We’ve been inseparable for seven beautiful years now. We understand each other on a deep soul level and it really is a special bond that we share. We got engaged in Bali, a place that is very special to us both. Picture a private pool in the jungle, massages, a scented bath overlooking the river, gourmet vegan food and a special table for two. It was an absolute dream come true!

Did you do all the styling yourself? EX. Hair accessories, jewelry, etc.

Yes. I am a designer myself so I absolutely loved styling my look from head to toe. From the bold yellow shoes and my mom’s vintage earrings to the fairytale headpiece made in Israel; styling my look was so much fun. Having a Berta dress at the centrepiece made it a whole lot easier and allowed the inspiration to flow!

What advice would you give for future brides?

Embrace the journey. It is truly an amazing experience to plan your wedding with your fiancé, so do as much as you can together. Make a big deal of everything – you only get to experience it once so why not make the most of every single aspect! Your wedding day is pure magic, so be mindful, slow down and connect with your husband, family and friends, and above all, have fun!

Claudia

Beautiful real BERTA bride Claudia and Bruno are a match made in heaven. We loved the excitement and happiness through their photos on their wedding day and just knew she is our spotlight bride! Claudia wore BERTA Style 16-23 which looked perfect on her! A fully floral applique gown with a fitted bodice and ball gown style skirt. The floral and hints of beading on the dress really translated so perfectly with the look of her wedding.

The beautiful Delaire Graff wine estate in Stellenbosch in Cape Town was the perfect location for their special day. Claudia was originally born in South Africa to Italian and British parents and Bruno is from Brazil so the wedding was a beautiful mix of many different cultures coming together.

“With so many people travelling from all over the world, we wanted everyone to have properly met before the big day so we started on the Friday night with a welcome drinks reception at Bartinney Wine and Champagne bar, an all-day BBQ / Pool party at Zorgvliet Wine estate on the Saturday and then the wedding on the Sunday.” – Claudia

How it all began..

“Bruno and I met whilst we were both working in Africa for Barclays, he was based in Mozambique and I was in Johannesburg on a two year assignment from London. We got engaged on a small island off the coast of Mozambique called Bazaruto, Bruno proposed whilst scuba diving! It only seemed natural that we would want to get married in Africa.” – Claudia
The wedding day..
“In terms of the wedding day…my three best friends and I stayed in the presidential lodge the night before and despite all the best intentions to get plenty of beauty sleep we all ended up finally going to sleep post 3am which meant we were all nursing slight hangovers over pre-wedding jitters! The day itself was simply spectacular, my favorite moment was walking into the reception with Bruno surrounded by an African dancing tribe!”

The perfect BERTA dress..

“In terms of my dress, I must have tried on over 50 dresses by the time I booked my appointment at The Wedding Club in Knightsbridge. I had specifically booked during the BERTA trunk show and had such high hopes when I arrived that this could be the one. The moment I put on the dress I completely and utterly fell in love with it! It was the first time my best friend Charlotte shed a tear from seeing me in a wedding dress. I went for a simple two tier veil with crystals dotted all over and for shoes I wore Jimmy Choo, a beautiful present from Charlotte for the day though I did change into a pair of Sophia Webster ‘Wifey for Lifey’ flats in the early hours of the morning!”

We wish this gorgeous couple many years of happiness and bliss!

Vaimiti Bourez

This BERTA bride truly took our breath away. Blending tradition on the stunning island of Moorea created the most beautiful wedding! Vaimiti Bourez, from Tahiti, French Polynesia and now husband Michel Bourez looked absolutely stunning with the warm island backdrop on their special day. Michel Bourez is part of the top 32 pro surfer Elite World tour. They got married in their hometown church in Paea and had a Tahitian traditional celebration in the island next to Tahiti, Moorea.

This breathtaking BERTA bride wore style 16-27, she bought it from Mon Amie Bridal in Costa Mesa, CA. An intricately handmade lace gown with full sleeves and a tattoo effect using lots of see-through fabric throughout the lace. The gorgeous open back and hint of tulle in the back opening of the skirt create this vintage yet modern twist on a lace wedding gown. Vaimiti looked beyond gorgeous in her traditional flower crown. Her entire look was flawless!

Cici

A wedding that reflects the merging of different cultures is one we love! Cici is our bride spotlight of the week! The beautiful couple integrated their Greek, Malaysia, Chinese and British cultures by creating the perfect destination wedding in the ever so stunning Greece. Dreamy and ethereal in all the details, their destination wedding was a huge success in creating the perfect atmosphere.

As a fashion designer herself, we are so excited that Cici chose to wear BERTA for her big day. She chose the perfect style that looked absolutely flawless on her! Cici wore style 17-136 from BERTA’s F/W 2017 collection. A hip hugging floral embellished gown with a full open tulle skirt. The many layers of the tulle skirt created a gorgeous ethereal look that worked perfectly with the whole atmosphere.
